  2. An Orchid is like a Woman

    23

    Like a woman
An orchid is a beautiful flower
    Like her foundation
Its stem is strong yet flexible
    Like her skin
The petals are silky soft to the touch
    Compared to her feminine body
    An orchid's form is curvaceous
    Like her beauty
An orchid is designed by nature's highest vision
    And reminscent of her scent
The sweet aroma casts a spell on innocence
    Like her patience
The orchid waits to bloom when ready
    And similar to her endurance
Few other blossoms matches its longevity
    Like a woman
An orchid has special needs to grow
Light to know which direction to face
    Water to maintain suppleness
The balance of nutrients to flourish
    Like a woman
An orchid can blind with good looks
    Seduce the hungry
Lure entrance to trappings of sweet honey
    Like a woman
An orchid thrives among nature's bounty
    Is admired by countless beings
Like a woman's inner beauty of generosity
Orchids share multiple flowers on a single stem
As only a woman's face can, the orchid gleams in the moonlight
    Most of all
A woman is like an orchid wanting, needing loving care

  3. Live your life without regrets like the great dragonfly

    75

    Myth: Dragonflies were once Dragons

The dragonfly has been a subject of intrigue in every single continent it is found in, and with each civilization, has developed a unique meaning to it, its behavior and its lifestyle.

The word Dragonfly and the family it belongs to, Odonata, have evolved from the many myths associated with Dragonflies and their taxonomic cousins, the Damselflies.  The word Dragonfly has its source in the myth that Dragonflies were once Dragons.

The family name Odonata comes from the Greek word for tooth as Odonates were believed to have teeth, it is a verified fact now that while they don’t have ‘teeth’ per say, they have strong mandibles that they use to crush their prey.

    Symbolisms of the Dragonfly

♥Maturity and a Depth of character
The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world symbolizes change and change in the perspective of self realization; and the kind of change that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life.

The traditional association of Dragonflies with water also gives rise to this meaning to this amazing insect. The Dragonfly’s scurrying flight across water represents an act of going beyond what’s on the surface and looking into the deeper implications and aspects of life.

    ♥Power and Poise
The dragonfly’s agile flight and its ability to move in all six directions exude a sense of power and poise – something that comes only with age and maturity. The dragonfly can move at an amazing 45 miles an hour,  hover like a helicopter fly backwards like a hummingbird, fly straight up, down and on either side. What is mind blowing is the fact that it can do this while flapping its wings a mere 30 times a minute while mosquitoes and houseflies need to flap their wings 600 and 1000 times a minute respectively.

The awe inspiring aspect is how the dragonfly accomplishes its objectives with utmost simplicity, effectiveness and well, if you look at proportions, with 20 times as much power in each of its wing strokes when compared to the other insects.  The best part is that the dragonfly does it with elegance and grace that can be compared to a veteran ballet dancer. If this is not a brazen, lazy, overkill in terms of display of raw power, what is?

    ♥Defeat of Self Created Illusions
The dragonfly exhibits iridescence both on its wings as well as on its body. Iridescence is the property of an object to show itself in different colors depending on the angle and polarization of light falling on it.

This property is seen and believed as the end of one’s self created illusions and a clear vision into the realities of life. The magical property of iridescence is also associated with the discovery of one’s own abilities by unmasking the real self and removing the doubts one casts on his/her own sense of identity. This again indirectly means self discovery and removal of inhibitions.

♥Focus on living ‘IN’ the moment
The dragonfly normally lives most of its life as a nymph or an immature. It flies only for a fraction of its life and usually not more than a few months. This adult dragonfly does it all in these few months and leaves nothing to be desired. This style of life symbolizes and exemplifies the virtue of living IN the moment and living life to the fullest. By living in the moment you are aware of who you are, where you are, what you are doing, what you want, what you don’t and make informed choices on a moment-to-moment basis.

This ability lets you live your life without regrets like the great dragonfly.

    ♥The opening of one’s eyes
The eyes of the dragonfly are one of the most amazing and awe inspiring sights. Given almost 80% of the insect’s brain power is dedicated to its sight and the fact that it can see in all 360 degrees around it, it symbolizes the uninhibited vision of the mind and the ability to see beyond the limitations of the human self. It also in a manner of speaking symbolizes a man/woman’s rising from materialism to be able to see beyond the mundane into the vastness that is really our Universe, and our own minds.

  4. Love others regardless of their Differences

    72

    Preaching Without Practice

    I'm so tired
of having tolerance preached to me
by men with none of their own.
Acceptance is a street that goes both ways.
If you want to be loved
    despite our beliefs
then you have to love others
    regardless of their differences.
So don't tell you're not being heard
    when you've got your fingers
    plugging your ears.
    Because there's nothing more frustrating
    than attempting conversation
with someone who won't see their own hypocrisy.

  5. A Green Rose wants to say something

    504

    I am a green rose
    No one can see me
    Because I won't show myself
    My real self
All around me are red roses
    I am a green rose
It's not impossible to find me
    Just try, keep a search
    Where am I
    Where you can find me
    Inside
    Not a red rose
    I’m a green rose
    I’m hard to find
    Impossible to think of
    Amazing in the inside
    Good color
    Forget those red roses
    I’m a green rose
    Different
    Different is always better
    People like different
    Seeing a green rose
    Shocks the world
I not like a red rose
    Never
Red roses are always the same
    Like a clique
There is only one green rose
    that’s me
    I’m a green rose

  6. You Are Beautiful

    191

If you are being bullied, remember:

♥Don’t blame yourself. It is not your fault. No matter what someone says or does, you should not be ashamed of who you are or what you feel.

♥Be proud of who you are. Despite what a bully says, there are many wonderful things about you. Keep those in mind instead of the messages you hear from bullies.

♥Get help. Talk to a parent, teacher, counselor, or other trusted adult. Seeing a counselor does not mean there is something wrong with you.

♥Learn to deal with stress. Finding ways to relieve stress can make you more resilient so you won’t feel overwhelmed by bullying. Exercise, meditation, positive self-talk, muscle relaxation, and breathing exercises are all good ways to manage the stress from bullying.

    ….•*•.¸¸. ♥

    What is Bullying

Bullying is repeated aggressive behavior that can be physical, verbal, or relational. Boys frequently bully using physical threats and actions, while girls are more likely to engage in verbal or relationship bullying. The results are similar:

♥You are made to feel hurt, angry, afraid, helpless, hopeless, isolated, ashamed, and even guilty that the bullying is somehow your fault. You may even feel suicidal.

♥Your physical health is likely to suffer, and you are at a greater risk of developing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, or adult onset PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).

♥You’re more likely to miss, skip, or drop out of school to avoid being bullied.

The most damaging aspect of bullying is its repetition. Bullies are often relentless, bullying over and over again for long periods of time. You may live in constant fear of where and when the bully will strike next, what they’ll do, and how far they’ll go.

  7. What A Guy Wants

    103

A guy wants the type of girl
    That doesn't mind staying home
    A guy wants a girl
    He can call his own
    He doesn't want a girl
    Who will cheat
    He doesn't want a girl
    Who is cheap
    He wants a girl
Who will be his best friend
    He wants a girl
Who will love him to the very end
    He wants a girl
    Who he can depend on
    He wants a girl
Who will tell him when he's wrong
    A guy wants a girl
    Who will never lie
    Even if it means
    One ends up crying
What a guy wants in a girl
    Is passion and trust
    But most of all
A guy wants to love and not to lust

  8. What A Woman Wants

    98

A woman wants to be held tight,
To be told everything will turn out all right,
She wants a man who understands,
That she can't always be strong,
She wants comfort in the night,
To be told she's safe in her lover's arms.
She wants to be told she's beautiful,
Especially when she doesn't feel it,
She doesn't want to hear frustrated sighs
    When she's down,
She wants to hear "I Love You".
A woman wants compassion and love,
She needs to be told every day
That she's loved in every way,
When she's down and you don't know what to do,
Just hold her close to you,
She needs to be touched in every way,
    She wants to be romanced,
She wants to be fought for,
To know she's worth the sacrifice that you will go through.
She wants to know you love her deeply,
And if you don't show it she'll think you don't.
So if you want a woman's heart,
Just keep one thing in mind,
She'll give you everything she's got,
    If you do the same,
    But if you deceive her,
There's only so far you can go,
Before her love starts to die,
And in the end it will be you whose left to cry.

    ~By Shelly Dyke
