New couples during the mass wedding ceremony at Thean Hou temple in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia, Sept. 9, 2009.

Some 500 couples got married on the auspicious date 09.09.09 here on Wednesday. In Chinese, the number 9 has the same pronunciation as "everlasting" which makes people believe that the number ensures longevity and everlasting love.
