Silence is the sleep that nourishes wisdom

"Now I see the secret of making the best person: it is to grow in the open air and to eat and sleep with the earth." ~Earl Nightingale

This is one of the songs I love most since I was a little girl. It's about love and the impermanence of life for all sentient beings. Very sentimental and spiritual too. The kind of song that could take my soul a way.

The Cedar Tree Cleaners (photo I posted earlier) belongs to the Tran family. They arrived as refugees after the fall of Saigon in 1975. The owner of the store was a small child at the time They and others from Vietnam and Cambodia have added much to our society. I consider myself fortunate to know them and am thankful for all they have given. You have an impressive talent for bringing spiritual awareness to the readers here. Thank you
I was in the Vietnam area in 1964 and am generaly aware of the problems since the French occupation—most caused by wrong political and military thinking you can be thankful Pol Pot is no longer around. I hope you have a peaceful day / evening

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
