Think about it

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is smile. We all have rough days, and we all go through experiences in life that we honestly wish we didn't have to. But it is only when we are able to take a second, and smile about the blessings we have in life that we realize how important it is to just smile.

We have all heard many times how fortunate we are as people compared to others. Think about it. Right now you have access to the Internet that millions of unfortunate souls don't have. Think of how much of a blessing that being able to acquire information from such a rich resource is, and how much just this one thing helps to impact your life.

Never get so caught up in life's stresses that you forget about what is really important. Smile, laugh, love, cry, be you, give to others, and promote peace! ~by J. Johnson

very beautiful and true ..I have been through alot in my life and even with my Buddhist training i still lose faith that each day is a blessing and to be thankful for all I have, I may not be in the best of health but at least I am still living, I may not be living with my children or see them every day but I am in contact with them, and I now have a partner who loves me for me and friends who I adore and love and they love me in return and my partners daughter who thinks of me as her mother… along with many pets thanks to our friends that are living with us. we may not have alot of money but we have a roof over our heads and food in our house in one way or another.. so yes we are very blessed, and like you said we have access to the internet and phone service which alot of people do not.. I consider alot of these things basic necessities but for alot of people in the world they would be luxuries so thank the Buddha's or the God's of whatever religion you are every day for all you have..
    Namaste!.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
