1. The devout go to heaven

    Some are born in the womb; the wicked are born in hell; the devout go to heaven;
the stainless pass into Nibbana.  ~Buddha, The Dhammapada

  2. Wisdom is not communicable

    Comment

Wisdom is not communicable. The wisdom which a wise man tries to communicate
always sounds foolish…. Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it,
live it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it. ~Hermann Hesse

  3. Doer of good and evil-doer

    Comment

It may be ill with the doer of good as long as the good ripens not.
But when it does ripen, then the doer of good sees (the pleasant results of)
his good deeds. It may be well with the evil-doer as long as the evil ripens not.
But when it does ripen, then the evil-doer sees (the painful results of) his evil deeds.

  4. Just look and just listen

    Comment

Wisdom comes with the ability to be still. Just look and just listen. No more is needed.
Being still, looking, and listening activates the non-conceptual intelligence within you.
Let stillness direct your words and actions. ~Eckhart Tolle

  5. To a wise man

    Comment

An ignorant man is always able to say yes or no immediately to any proposition.
To a wise man, comparatively few things can be propounded which do not require
a response with qualifications, with discrimination, with proportion. ~Horace Mann

Neither in the sky nor in mid-ocean, nor by entering into mountain clefts,
nowhere in the world is there a place where one may escape from the results
of evil deeds.Neither in the sky nor in mid-ocean, nor by entering into mountain clefts,

Cat Feeding Mistakes: Offering Too Little Water
Clearly water is vital, for cats as well as people. Essential to life, water accounts for 60% to 70% of an adult cat’s body weight, say ASPCA experts. A serious water deficiency can have critical repercussions for pets, causing serious illness or death. Although wet foods can go far toward meeting your feline friend’s water needs, cats should also have several sources of fresh water available through the house, say the pros. “Pay attention to where the cat likes to be so that there’s water there,” Case suggests. “And be aware that some cats prefer running water; others can detect the taste of chlorine in tap water so you might want to buy bottled water for them.” Source: WebMD

  9. Kittens love milk

    Comment

How Do I Feed a Newborn Kitten? A mother cat’s milk provides everything a kitten needs during the first four weeks of life. If you have newborn kittens who’ve been separated from their mother, consult with a veterinarian, shelter or experienced foster care giver who can help you find a new mother cat with a small litter-she may be able to nurse the orphaned babies. If you cannot find a foster mother, please consult with your veterinarian about the proper way to bottle-feed with a commercial milk replacer. Please do not offer regular cow’s milk to cats of any age. It is not easily digestible and can cause diarrhea. Source: WebMD

Me & Grandma

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
