1. A heart

    Comment

Giving away a heart can hurt … having a broken heart
can be life threatening, even to the strongest people.
But, receiving one is the greatest gift.

  2. Natural course

    Comment

Try to be mindful and let things take their natural course. Then your mind will become still in any surroundings, like a clear forest pool. All kinds of wonderful, rare animals will come to drink at the pool, and you will clearly see the nature of all things. You will see many strange and wonderful things come and go, but you will be still. This is the happiness of the Buddha. ~Ajahn Chah

  3. The heart and soul

If the moon never came out and the stars did not shine, it would be one lonely world …
just as would the heart and soul without love. Source Unknown

  4. Looking for peace

    Comment

Looking for peace is like looking for a turtle with mustache. You won’t be able to find it. But when your heart is ready, peace will come looking for you. ~Ajahn Chah

  5. When anger arose

    Comment

A woman wanted to know how to deal with anger. I asked when anger arose whose anger it was. She said it was hers. Well, if it really was her anger, then she should be able to tell it to go away, shouldn’t she? But it really isn’t hers to command. Holding on to anger as a personal possession will cause suffering. If anger really belonged to us, it would have to obey us. If it doesn’t obey us, that means it’s only a deception. Don’t fall for it. Whenever the mind is happy or sad, don’t fall for it. It’s all a deception. ~Ajahn Chah

  6. Get into your Heart

    Comment

Life is a mirror, it reflects your face.
Be friendly, and all of life will reflect friendliness.

Get out of your head and get into your heart.
Think less, feel more. Don’t be angry at life.
It is not life that is frustrating you,
it is you who are not listening to life.

  7. The right question

    Comment

Never ask, “Who is my real friend?”
Ask, “Am I a real friend to somebody?”
    That is the right question.
    Always be concerned with yourself.

  9. A few minutes of silence

    Comment

A peaceful mind can think better, than an exhausted mind.
Allow a few minutes of silence to your mind everyday.
See how it shapes your life. ~SantaBanta

  10. If you are happy with everyone…

    Comment

If everyone is happy with you, then surely you have made
many compromises in your life. If you are happy with everyone,
surely you have ignored many faults of others.

Me & Grandma

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
