1. Dog jumping on trampoline

    Comment

Dogs (especially large ones) jumping on trampolines can cause seismic tremors and possibly even a small earthquake if allowed to go on for over 15 minutes.

The danger comes from what is called “resonance frequency” which in lay terms is simply when you put energy into a substance or object at its resonance frequency, you force it to vibrate or resonate (forced vibration). It’s the same force at work as when marching soldiers break their cadence when crossing a suspension bridge. Source:  Fool Moon

  3. Courage to me…

    Comment

Courage to me is doing something daring, no matter how afraid, insecure, intimidated, alone, unworthy, incapable, ridiculed or whatever other paralyzing emotion you might feel. Courage is taking action…..no matter what.  So you’re afraid?  Be afraid.  Be scared silly to the point you’re trembling and nauseous, but do it anyway! ~Richelle E. Goodrich

  4. I am someone…

    Comment

What do you mean I have to wait for someone’s approval?
I’m someone. I approve. So I give myself permission
to move forward with my full support!

  5. They’ve tried

    Comment

There are far too many silent sufferers. Not because they don’t
yearn to reach out, but because they’ve tried and found
no one who cares. ~Richelle E. Goodrich

  7. kamma…

    Comment

As milk, is evil kamma done,
    so slowly does it sour.
Smouldering does it follow the fool
    like fire with ashes covered.
    ~Dhammapada

Explanation: When an ignorance person commits an act of sin, it does not immediately yield bad results. This is like the freshly extracted milk, which does not curdle immediately on being extracted from the cow’s udder. The sin that has been committed remains concealed like the sparks covered with ashes, and continues to follow and burn the doer of sins. Source: Buddhanet

  8. Be nice…

    Comment

Be nice. And if you can’t do that, just don’t be mean.
Walk with me for a while, my friend—you in my shoes,
I in yours—and then let us talk.

  10. The kingdom of God

    Comment

The kingdom of God is available to you in the here and the now. But the question is whether you are available to the kingdom. Our practice is to make ourselves ready for the kingdom so that it can manifest in the here and the now. You don’t need to die in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. In fact, you have to be truly alive in order to do so. ~Thich Nhat Hanh

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
