1. Watchfulness

    Comment

Watchfulness is the path of immortality:
Unwatchfulness is the path of death.
Those who are watchful never die:
Those who do not watch are already as dead.

Those who with a clear mind have seen this truth,
Those who are wise and ever watchful,
They feel the joy of watchfulness,
The joy of the path of the great.

And those who in high thought and in deep contemplation
With ever living power advance on the path,
They in the end reach NIRVANA,
The peace supreme and infinite joy.

  2. The Great Mercy mantra

    Comment

    Better than a thousand sayings
    Made up of useless words
    Is one word of meaning
Which calms you to hear it.

  3. Enlightenment

    Comment

Enlightenment is like the moon reflected on the water.
The moon does not get wet, nor is the water broken.
Although its light is wide and great,
The moon is reflected even in a puddle an inch wide.
The whole moon and the entire sky
Are reflected in one dewdrop on the grass.

  4. May you walk gently through the world

    Comment

May the sun bring you new energy by day, may the moon softly restore you by night.
May the rain wash away your worries, may the breeze blow new strength into your being.
May you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life.

You inspire people, not by showing them how amazing you are,
but by showing them how amazing they are. ~Alexander Den Heijer

A cat can reach up to five times its own height per jump. It is important to include fat in your cat’s diet because they’re unable to make the nutrient in their bodies on their own. A healthy 10-pound cat only needs about 220-350 calories a day, while a human needs roughly 2,000. This interesting fact is brought to you by Meow Mix® Cat Food. The only one cats ask for by name™. Most kittens are born with blue eyes, which then turn color with age. Source: Animal Planet

  7. Dogs drinking style

    Comment

A dog wags his tail in three very different moods and only one is happy. When it’s unusually high and stiff, the dog is agitated and ready to protect his turf. A tail held low and wagged very quickly shows a scared and submissive dog. A happy dog wags his tail in its natural, mid-level position — and his ears, mouth, and body will look relaxed, too. Puppies don’t wag their tails before they are about three weeks old — and some don’t start until seven weeks old. Vets believe tiny puppies are capable, but they’re too busy sleeping and eating to bother. As they become more alert, tail wagging starts as a kind of sign language: a peace sign to rambunctious littermates or when begging for food. Dogs almost never wag their tails when alone. Live & Die for Buddhism

Me & Grandma

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
