1. Song of the diamond heart

The pine tree’s voice is always whispering
Yet how many pause to listen?
For when the churning mind is still,
    The Diamond Heart within
Reflects even the falling dusk that
    Shrouds every eye and branch
    And hears, but listens not.
Walking then, with Courage and Kindness,
Never ceasing to walk in Wonder,
    We follow our ancient path.
    For the Way of the sword is folded two;
Like the rose we have thorns,
And like the rose, we unfold

  2. Joyous and clear like the lake

    Comment

    Yielding like the earth,
Joyous and clear like the lake,
Still as the stone at the door,
He is free from life and death.
    His thoughts are still.
    His words are still.
    His work is stillness.
He sees his freedom and he is freed.

    The master surrenders his beliefs.
He sees his freedom and he is freed.

    The master surrenders his beliefs.
He sees beyond the end and the beginning.

    He cuts all ties.
He gives up all his desires.
    He resists all temptation.
    And he rises.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
