The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success, his influence, his power for good. Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom. ~James Allen

  2. Nothing in the nature

    302

Nothing in the nature lives for itself
Rivers don’t drink their own water
Trees don’t eat their own fruits
Sun doesn’t give heat for itself
Moon doesn’t ever go on honeymoon
Flowers don’t spread fragrance for themselves.

  6. Not by running away from things…

    Comment

Spirituality is not to be learned by flight from the world,
or by running away from things, or by turning solitary
and going apart from the world. Rather, we must learn
an inner solitude wherever or with whomsoever we may be.
We must learn to penetrate things and find God there.

    ~Meister Eckhart

Songs are for singing, I sing for U.

  9. Avoid being narrow-minded

    Comment

Do not think the knowledge you presently possess is changeless, absolute truth. Avoid being narrow-minded and bound to present views. Learn and practice nonattachment from views in order to be open to receive others’ viewpoints. To me, this is the most essential practice of peace. ~Thich Nhat Hanh

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
