Being in LOVE

First best is falling in love. Second best is being in love. Least best is falling out of love. But any of it is better than never having been in love. ~Maya Angelou

People seem to have different ideas about what love actually is. Does anyone have a good definition that they would like to share?

To my mind true love is not attraction, desire, infatuation, obsession, possession, or sex.

For me, I'm only looking for one thing: Being faithful…[meaning if you love me, do not cheat or flirt with others because this behavior is disrespectful…]

We agree that to "cheat" or "adultery" is immoral, destructive, and sinful in a marriage.

I am more tolerant when it comes to "flirting". It is very natural and harmless to flirt with others. Jealousy can be far more destructive.

Flirt = "Behave as though attracted to or trying to attract someone, but for amusement rather than with serious intentions."

+Chorum Ventus  I agree with you. As for amusement kind of flirt, I would fit into this category so much, maybe very difficult for man to handle this from me. 'Flirt can cause future harm too, depends on the other party. It's better to avoid that, since it could harm the relationship.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
