Don't look back too long

Don’t look back too long to the past.
It would make you lose the new

Ontem passado. Amanhã futuro. Hoje agora. Ontem foi. Amanhã será. Hoje é. Ontem experiência adquirida. Amanhã lutas novas. Hoje, porém, é a nossa hora de construir!

+Jendhamuni Sos … I belive the present time is the most important time of our lives. The actions and events from yesterday are no longer here; and the actions and events from the future haven't arrived yet, so why do we keep living our lives as if tomorrow will always come?….

Jendhamuni, you are right. Power is at the present moment. Past is history and future is mistry. Being at present help us to completely dedicate ourselve into this very "NOW". This way we can really enjoy each moment of our life. Thanks for sharing such a nice idea.

I find that what you say is partially true in the respect i have no control over the power and control the past plays when it is still very present in my mind body an soul. It cannot be willed away and believe me ive tried to let go but it remains and dominates my mind my heart all that i see almost is somehow linked and i dont have the desire nor the capacity to find interest in another because i cant shake the present. Hopeless and Helpless and of course doomed are my sentiments. Forgive my lack of a positive hopeful or any other inspiring feedback

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
