Every Breath You Take

No one in this world does not have a problem. Even myself. Behind every smile, there is sadness. But I choose not to discuss, not to complain, not to cry…Because, I realize there is much bigger problem in this universe, than mine. Look at this poor family from my homeland, below. They have no beds, no pillows, no shelter. They survive from day to day, with very little or no food. Their future is unpredictable. It happens everywhere, not just Cambodia. The suffering of our human family in this world, is very deep. My problem, comparing to theirs, is very small. That is why I don't complain, but learn how to live and let go…~Jendhamuni

Hi Jendhamuni, I want to share the truth with you! Buddha is not God! and Buddha can not save us from the unseen enemy, only the true son of God can! all you need to do is find your self a bible and read! what do you got to lose? Pls read and find out! I want you to know the truth and be saved, God loves you more than an human fathers love for an daughter; he has given you a free will, so he is waiting for you to call on him and he will come for you for he loves you even though you don't know him yet, so pls don't settle for the least when God is offering the very best! don't waste time go get your self a bible and go in to your safe place of privacy maybe your bed room and read the bible and also know that you can talk to God! he hears you and he knows you by name. I pray that you come to know the only true existing God who created you and gave you life. God bless you dear sister.

Actually, the problem we as humans each share is one of seeing so many problems in the world and feeling helpless to really make a difference with each child, family, and the elderly.  We each, in our own ways, donate our time, our money, food, basic clothing and blankets, and perhaps even some shelter for those in need.  But, someone then comes along and undoes our momentary selfless acts of compassion and service for others.  Millions in Africa, Cambodia, Myanmar, Philippines, Middle East, Eastern Europe, as well as in the so-called "civilized" countries of Western Europe, Russia, China, the Americas, daily face homelessness, poverty, hunger, illness and disease. abuse and torture.  To "fix" our own problems, we must first reach out and fix humanity's many problems through moment-to-moment self-sacrifice (personal time, money, and giving a "hand up") for others – the billions of people around the world with huge daily and moment-by-moment horrific life experiences.  We will have to shut off the TV's more, purchase more sensibly, and use our "new" time, money and efforts to peacefully assemble and help, and serve, others less fortunate.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
