Happy or Unhappy

Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself:
"I, not events, have the power to make me happy
or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be.
Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today,
and I’m going to be happy in it.”

~ Groucho Marx

Further to making a choice to have a happy and positive day it is important to follow-up that choice with solid action. I do this by always answering that age old question; How are you today? with a smile and a positive answer such as; GREAT! and how about you? If said with true conviction you can turn around that age old answer; Not Bad 🙁 and in turn have an even better day. It's win / win for all 🙂

nice quote sos. every day is HAPPY as it is gifted by god to human beings and we should make it convinent and happy and we should not say because of something we are unhappy. unhappiness is created by human beings but not by GOD, so every day is great. nicely said friend.

Thanks so much for bringing this up +Roxana Bravo In the future maybe, but now very hard for me to do so because I have so much work. I don't get to come t g+ all the time, only certain time of the day, not always predictable.

Nice flower +Jendhamuni Sos ! Flowers are always welcome, especially now in this cold winter time, when everything outside is frozen… I like the quote from Groucho Marx, just sometimes it is not really that simple. There are circumstances which are not under our control… Don't worry be happy :))

Agree +Rene Sidler Flowers are welcome any season, for me. Marx's quote is incredible. Of course not that easy, but if you practice that every moring, like he suggested, you will see a big difference, Rene.

Live & Die for Buddhism

Me & Grandma

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
