Hippo saves gnu from crocodile

The gnu struggling to get to the bank of the river is dragged back by the crocodile. This is the amazing moment a heroic hippo saved a gnu from certain death. After being bitten by a crocodile, the large antelope is seen being dragged slowly under the water. Captured whilst on safari in Masai Mara in Kenya, the exhausted antelope later managed to escape to safety…Read and view more photos

What's the hippo saving the animal or was he just naturally aggressive to a known predator in his territory..

Hippos are one of the most aggressive animals in Africa. Very territorial and crocodiles are frequently their target and the hippo is usually the winner.

+Pieter Hibma absolutely it's usually what happens when man tries to project his own human qualities on situations he doesn't understand. It was years before I even found out hippos kill more human than any other animal in Africa…

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
