I am safe right now

As a solid rock is not shaken by the wind, so the wise are not shaken by blame and praise. As a deep lake is clear and calm, so the wise become tranquil after they listened to the truth.

Good people walk on regardless of what happens to them. Good people do not babble on about their desires. Whether touched by happiness or by sorrow, the wise never appear elated or depressed…~Lord Buddha

The wise learn to embrace the rough and the smooth experiences of life and learn from them and go with the flow of life with a calm even mindedness.

+Michael Howell Not too bad, Michael. Came back from the wake of Danny earlier. A lot of students and teachers were there. But Danny's grandma is out of control. She cried too much, that my mother had to return home. Because they both cried too much. I did not cry. I guess I don't have any tears like all the human beings.

+Michael Howell Such a great kid, very hard to find. But he had to go. Again, the law of karma kicks in :))) In Buddhism, when people died too early, possibly means, they used to harm others in the previous lives. I deserve another slap from my mother and aunt if they hear me saying this.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
