Is this True?

Men marry women with the hope they will never change.
Women marry men with the hope they will change.
Invariably they are both disappointed.”

~Albert Einstein

The man suffered from aspergers syndrome. Syndrome is the sufferers find social interaction difficult. When you are on the same wavelength you both fight to keep it that way.

That is the mystery of love. When it finds you,you will know.Of coarse i will promise you this, its after practice in most cases. There are exceptions to every rule,so blessed are those that love finds the first time around.

Well I like the picture (it is cute, happy and beautiful) but the quote is… well… the opposite.

"is this true?" as in "is this truly a quote from Einstein?"

  12. Bill Reed

    February 20, 2013

There are two questions here. Is the statement true? Who knows, but many people probably act as if it true and so it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Did Albert Einstein say this? Although I find this quote attributed to him all over the Internet, i have yet to find any reference to where he said it. My guess is that he didn't, but "who know."

I guess Einstein was well known for his reductive formulae, so it is possible.

He got dumped by his wife and married his cousin; I'd say he had some problems with change.

Marriage is an economic institution based on repression and backed by religion which is the most important organization for repression .

+Jonathan Bowman The first wife he married for "Love" … the second, his cousin, he was wanting a housekeeper.

+Dana Littleford You believe it is True and so you act on that belief … this is hoe self-fulfilling prophecies work.

I wonder what happens when men marry men? Maybe a singularity occurs?

  18. Jonathan Bowman

    February 20, 2013

+Bill Reed thanks for clearing that up. I agree. I believe strongly in self fulfilling prophecies. I don't think this fake Einstein quote is real nor do I believe it's how marriage really is. I think it's just a funny and relatable sweeping generalization. I've been married for 14 years and the last time my wife tries to change me was, never.

I think it's just a silly exaggeration based on how some people feel when they're frustrated.

Marriage is the price men pay for sex, while sex is the price women pay for marriage.

Like you don't know the answer ?  If not its YES as far as they are both disappointed.” I don't know that to be true.

i think men and women does marry for their motive, some for money, status, power, etc  but there is no satisfaction.

Truly, people keep on making this mistake in the name of he/she will change. Dear friends, is only God that can actually do that.

I really do not think that its true, because i personally hope when i get married i have to change in most of my ways right from my hair style

  26. Dana Littleford

    February 22, 2013

have known so many women who got together with idiots who they thought they could change. Of course, they never could. And (as just about all my friends are women), have heard stories about how once they start to develop their own interests and grow, their boyfriends are seldom happy about it.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
