Like electricity… constructive and destructive

Like electricity, Mind is both a constructive and destructive powerful force. It is like a double – edged weapon that can equally be used either for good or evil. One single thought that arises in this invisible mind can even save or destroy the world. One such thought can either populate or depopulate a whole country. It is mind that creates one’s heaven. It is mind that creates one’s hell.

I sounds quite drastic, that the mind can wield such power, but on some level, I know this must be true.  So the question remains: do we use it for good, or for evil?

In all our religious texts and
scriptures, the glory of that one
    Prabhu / Master / Rab / Khuda /
Allah / Ram / Sahib / God has been
sung by clearly writing His name.
That one Master / Prabhu is Lord
Kabir who lives in a visible human-
    like form in Satlok.
Ved, Gita, Quran, Bible and Guru
Granth Sahib all these are nearly
    same. In Yajurved’s
    Adhyay 5 Shlok no. 32; in Samved’s
    Mantra no. 1400, 822; Atharvaved
Kaand no. 4 Anuvaak no. 1 Shlok no.
    7; Rigved Mandal 1 Adhyay 1 Sukt 11
Shlok no. 4, by writing the name
Kabir, it has been explained that
Supreme God is Kabir who lives in
    form in Satlok.
In Shri Guru Granth Sahib on page no.
24 and page no. 721, and in In Quran
    Sharif,
Surat Furqani no. 25 Aayat no. 52-59
the glory of God Kabir is sung by
    writing the name "Kabir".

There is so much truth in this saying. The question is, which side do you choose?

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
