Love for everyone

Does it really matter what your religion is;
Or the color of your skin?
What church you attend on sunday,
or the neighborhood you live in?

Is the car you drive really important?
Does it make the man or woman inside?
Does any thing in this world truely matter?
Can you take it to the other side?

Something is wrong with our nation today,
we seem to have lost all common sense.
We no longer stand united,
we use discrimination as our defense.

We try to exhault our selves higher,
then everyone else we see;
We try to prove we are better inside,
but our selves we can not decieve.

Let us put an end to the hatred,
lets' put discrimination in the past;
Let us restore our nation to greatness,
with a greatness that will surely last.

    +Jendhamuni Sos The poetry that you use you tell who the author is, that is good.  You should also tell us who the photographer is.

    By not stating that these images are not yours, whether they are free wallpaper or not, is not fair to the photographer.  You are giving the impression that these images were taken by you.  You should tell the origin of the image, as you do with the poetry.  +Jendhamuni Sos

    Of course it matters, Jesus stated in John 14:6 – “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Jesus did not develop a religion; he wanted to develop relationships with His believers. Religion kills the soul, a relationship with God Himself enlivens the soul.

    Deep down in the heart of every human is the fundamental belief of something greater than man himself.It's felt by the individual to be better than any other .We all have the right to do that but not to force that belieg on others.

    The only thing that matters is what you believe!
    I doubt it could be summed up any better, however most of what we believe is what we accept that other people teach us, so if you accept the above poster's view on religion, then you may be shutting yourself out of seeing another side to what may be something important to you, however if you are like most people who don't really care much about anything, then you should listen to his advise, most definitely.

    Nevertheless, it's what you believe that more or less dictates how you view anything as important, for belief is 90% of reality, truth of course is the other 10% and if you are wrong, well, then that 10% is far more important that what you believe, most definitely…

    I think you aren't seeing it as it truly is today, not only do they not fear God, they downright hate Him in many instances, and indeed in some countries it's not legal to even be of some religions.

    If people believe something or not, it's not really important, in the end the truth is what will stand, and that's the only thing there is to know and say about that… truly 😀

  64. John Bassey

    February 24, 2013

    I quite appreciates ur post, its a fine composition with a nice photograph. But Ofcurse, it does "matter what religion we belong", bcoz Jesus christ says in Matthew 7:13,14 "go in through the narrow gate…. it leads to life,…. Bt d broad and spacious gate leads off into destruction and many are the ones going in through it," this statements suggest that, wrong choice of religion leads to destruction but discreetful choice of it, leads to life. So, you will agree with me that, it does matter what religion you belong to. Also, we should not let this fact pass us by that, "religion is a trap"!

  65. Charles van Dijk

    February 24, 2013

    +John Bassey Religions are political movements of the past, embedded as ideologies of their respected cultures. Religions are also perfect motivators of their followers to kill their fellow human beings who otherwise wouldn't do so. Your religion says thou shall not kill, a clear precise command. Christian Europe send 40 Million people to the other side 70 years ago. That you're a Christian is a matter of geography nothing to do with conviction. A true Christian sees common ground with other faiths don't point out the differences. After all when Jesus Christ walked on the earth, he never wrote your Bible He could very easily have done so. He left behind the Holy Spirit which operates like the rain does falls on good and bad at the same time. I take my Catholic traditions with a grain of salt because I'm fully aware of the horrific amount of abuse and hypocrisy in it's hierarchy.  The answer of this I found in mother nature, which gives me more inspiration than all the church services in the world. The lion attracts carrion eaters, religions attracts hypocrites for the same reasons. Sad but true!Of one thing I'm convinced the Jendhamunis of this world will be received with open arms in His Father's house which has many mansions.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
