In 2006 I was on a SingAir 777 from SIN to MUM and we hit a "wall" of air at 30,000 feet. Must have dropped a thousand feet. Pilot recovered (thank you, I owe you my life) the aircraft, that's why I'm still here. Hope that is not what happened to the Malaysian Airlines 777.

Having worked for a large air carrier for many years, anytime a A/C went down, or missing  it gave me pause. I offer my deepest condolences to
the family, friends, and loved ones that grieve for their loss. This bird
will be located, it just takes some time. A flight at night will show itself
in daylight. There are friends, families, and loved ones that will offer you
a warn shoulder, and open arms in your grief. Be strong…….

It's 12:59pm, Beijing time, this bird is down, ground or water, it's down. Sorry, it's the facts. Whenever the
last ARINC signal was sent well be the place to work from. Triangulate from there, last known altitude
air speed, and heading. In the water, they will have to know direction of current, wind speed, and just plain use their eyes. I'm talking low level observation. Someone in the air should see a debris field.

I also heard that the Chinese had a passenger manifest and two names had been pixelled out.
Later the news of two passports stolen earlier, much earlier. So we can not rule out foul play.
If the bird was bombed it just went into billions of pieces, many dynamics at work if this is the case.
This is such a savage world, more than I've every known.

No.  This is not going to stop me from visiting Kuala Lumpur.  Even if it was terrorism (which it probably was, but other causes cannot at this point be discounted .. catastrophic engine failure, etc.).

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
