More than 100 arrested in Harlem in largest-ever NYC gang bust

NEW YORK (Reuters) – More than 100 members of three feuding gangs were arrested in Harlem for killings and gun violence on Wednesday in what was described as the largest indictment of gang members in New York City's history, authorities said.

The arrests and indictments were part of a conspiracy investigation that stemmed from the 2011 murder of Tayshana Murphy, an 18-year-old high-school basketball star, a person familiar with the investigation said. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because details of the sweep have not yet been officially released. Video and Full story

Now they go to prison and become more criminalized, people need to be taught their worth and taught skills at a young age. Plus, while they are incarcerated, they should receive job skills training and mandatory education.

+Thotchu Thot They get both. Plus 3 meals…a bed..and free health care paid for by the state..by U.S. citizens. For most..its a camp getaway with their buddies. They should be taught a lesson..if they want to use guns so much and want to shoot people…give them a gun and send them to another country to fight against terrorists.

Good, we get tired of it. Remember almost $68 billion in drugs sold all over the world and growing. We as humans couldn' t think of anything else to spend our money on.

+Eustace Johnson no it won't; but at least some people that feel disenfranchised living in the P's can enjoy a little piece of what it feels like to live in some semi-peaceful conditions like the rest of society as a whole…

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
