Nigeria Extremists Attack More Villages; 48 Dead
Boko Haram militants attacked three villages in Nigeria, killing 48 people, residents said Wednesday, as rescue workers in the central city of Jos searched for the missing a day after two car bombs killed more than 100. One of the villages that were attacked between Tuesday night and early Wednesday lies near the town of Chibok, where more than 300 schoolgirls were kidnapped last month. Video and full story

I cant imagine that whats going arround the world, I remamber a couple of lines of a poem from "GITANJALI" written by nobel prize winner "RABINDRA NATH TAGORE"
"Where the mind is without fear
Where the world is not divided into,
the narrow domestic walls of nations"
    Good night friends.

I think it is time to negotiate a peace with Boko Haram since they have the capability to travel from city to city unimpeded and create havoc. Maybe bring them into the government as a peace offering where they can change the laws amicably to accomodate both sides.

It is not proper to directly attack another commentator but rather deal with the specific issue. Many times that is an Islamic ploy to avoid the confrontation over the issues. And most people know this approach – as it is used by many others. Please direct your comments to the issue at hand with alternatives, inspirational, or actual facts or opinions on the matter at hand. Muslims are allowed to lie in the furtherance of their ideology which no other ideology affords such misconduct – only facts and opinions based on facts.

+Grin Olsson You said, "Muslims are allowed to lie in the furtherance of their ideology which no other ideology affords such misconduct …" Wrong. Jehovahs Witnesses have what is called the "Theocratic War Doctrine." It allows them to lie like motherfuckers. And yeah, all I needed to know about islam I learned on 9-11-2001.

+ifeanyi jombo you are correct sir. Isaiah 24 describing these last days gives a glimpse of what it will look like before the Lord returns. Notice the sun and moon mentioned at the end of the chapter. This refers to the time right before He returns. Joels prophecy describing blood, fire, and smoke is a message for the church when Peter stood up at Pentecost and spoke those words. It will get worse, much worse! But our King will return, praise the Lord!

Stop blaming Mr President, Goodluck Jonathan.  He needs the cooperation of the Police, the Military, the Intelligence and most of all THE WHOLE GOVERNMENT!  If some bad eggs who does not want a Southern Son, to be there and they're plotting to dis-stabilize the country in order to oust him; he cannot succeed no matter how much he tries..

Jonathan has been slow in tackling the insurgents…if our soldiers lack the weapons needed to tackle boko haram,if the allowances of our soldiers are not paid as at When due n when the insurgents keep having free reign to do as they please, then, the president should be blamed cause he ought to see to the security welfare of Nigerians….No need pointing fingers.

Commie iriri.. Isn't it sad that a whole GIANT of AFRICA, can no longer afford to pay  HER SOLDIERS?  This is A FEDERAL REPUBLIC of NIGERIA THAT'S BLESSED BEYOND COMPARE?  Where are all the money from oil going?  Obviously too many thieves are lining their pockets; at the expense of those that are to be paid for their jobs.  From what people are saying, it seems that so many people are competing as to who is richer amongst them.  You might think that Mr. President, Goodluck Jonathan has been slow but you must take on board that if he had acted faster, the human rights organizations would have leaned on him.  I have also read an article where I saw that Jonathan had earlier on seek help from the US but they refused.  Thank you for your comment.

+omona iyemere exactly…it is extremely sad.But the kudos of a great country always goes to the leader….so does the failure….the fact that Nigeria is a failing country lies on the leader…..the only person everyone is asking abt oil money n insecurity is the president and his inability to do anything about it is failure itself..R 7 saying if the president had acted faster when churches where being burnt left right center that the human rights organization would have lead on. Him??I dont think so….I also heard on Aljezera and CNN that the UN offered their help earlier but were rejected by the president…..thanks for replying..

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
