1. Knowledge is not the same as insight

    14

A good leader has to have the virtue of insight. Knowledge is not the same as insight. There are people with numerous PhDs, who know a vast array of scientific, philosophical, and literary discourses by heart, who can give eloquent commentaries on the Buddhist Canon, but they don't have insight, they don't have wisdom. Wisdom or insight is born from looking deeply. A genuine leader has the wisdom to show us the path out of suffering. You may be in a difficult situation, caught in confusion, and without direction. When you come to a true leader, he can show you the way. Very quickly you see a way out, because he has wisdom. ~Thich Nhat Hanh
  2. Negativity sucks away energy

    25

Negativity sucks away energy. If part of the negativity stems from your attitude or perspective, commit yourself at the beginning of each day and each activity to find something positive in yourself and in others around you. If the people around you are negative and you can't change that, either remove yourself from the situation or view it simply as one obstacle you face in pursuing your own potential. Stay focused on your own goals and make the best of the situation. ~TERRY ORLICK
  3. Clear yourself of negativity

    27

It's the simplest properties that will help you clear yourself of negativity … The profound power of a simple prayer. The strength of a deep breath. The gentle guidance of good music. ~JEFFREY WANDS
  4. I miss all of you so much

    207

I'm on gplus everyday to post for you, but hardly have time to visit your personal page due to the workload. I have a long list of friends to visit each day and many emails to reply. It will take so long for me to get to everyone. I love and respect each and everyone of you so much. If you don't see me on your page, it's because I run out of time. I hope you understand. We are one big and happy family here. Since I come to gplus, I have learned so much from you. Friends mean a world to me. Please forgive me if I don't get to visit your personal page. I miss all the beautiful, cute, lovely and silly posts you share here so much. I will always be Jendhamuni. Never wish to be someone else…
  5. Do not fall in love with donated fund

    20

Never fall in love with donated fund.
It may be drained from the poor,  the fixed-income,
perhaps from elderly. Every penny you misspent
    can turn heaven into hell.
Donated fund is like a  fire, a poisonous snake.
One day it can burn you, bite you, kill you,
    just like the Buddha said,
“Money is the root cause of Evil”
    ~Jendhamuni

  6. When someone breaks your Heart

    198

When the ones you love continue to break your heart over and over, don't be sad. You can cry. One thing you can do is, looking up the sky. Feel the Love spirit from above. Your soul mate maybe up there, waiting for the best time to unite. Things happen for a reason. Do not cling to a relation that is not healthy. ~Jendhamuni

Live & Die for Buddhism

Me & Grandma

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

A Handful of Leaves

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
