The green earth

The miracle is not to walk on water. The miracle is to walk on the green earth in the present moment, to appreciate the peace and beauty that are available now. ~Thich Nhat Hanh

Admire the sun, moon and all the other planets and satellites. Now you realise how important team-work and harmony is. Without all those dead bodies we wouldn't be around.

You constantly leave me speechless, and in deep thought. Star child. You must go on a lot of walks. You always seem to be in the moment. But that's what makes you my teacher.

    I like the comment.

Although I believe that it is the miracle for our times, but was not "miraculous", not so long ago.

We are a fallen people, these millenia.

The old testament has it that we, or our metaphorical ancestors, Eve and Adam, "fell" from the Garden of Eden.Β

The implication in that use of the word "fall" is that prior to A&E's time, the first peoples, A&E's predecessors, or ancestors, were in this heavenly state perpetually.

It becomes important then to do the maths so to speak, as to how "worldly" or, how "parochial" that Hebrew view was?

Apparently, we might assume, the ancient hebrews were unaware of peoples of much much older tribes, such as, say,Β  the Ancient Japanese, the Ancient "Cambodians" or such [Thich Nhat Hanh?] the Ancient Americans, north and south, the Ancient Australian Aborigines, in other distant parts of the globe, who lived I assert, in this "miraculous" state of being in the present, up until the "western" expansionist putsch out of Europe and Britain as late as the 15th century CE, but also as early as the 2nd century BCE of ancient Rome.Β  In Australia, up until as recently as 1788CE.

[Australian Aborigine call the day the whites "celebrate", January 26th, when the white's first landed here, "Sorry Day".]

So, I say again, it's a beautiful line, but we are the exception today, compared to the Ancients, who all lived in that Blissful moment.

What's more.., they were Wise and True, and taught their children the same Path.

That's why, today, in Australia, our Aborigine kids have the highest suicide rate on earth.Β  They are still rejected by white society, and must watch as their Country, their Ancient Mother Earth, is stolen and sold from under their feet, and they watch as quite, quite insane "buzz-headed" whites pour in, build their ridiculous mansions, and cities and false lifestyles on their mother.Β

Inherently, the Indigenous kids, and of course, their disempowered adults look see and know how utterly mad the invaders are, and that they are so off the path, as referred to by Thich Nhat Hanh above, yet are thrown in prison if they object, object to "whiteguy" deadly and insane ways?

NOT FUNNY, that as we go to the federal election tomorrow [Saturday 7th Sept], yet this matter does not rate a mention by either of the main contending parties,Β

But that's why, I wrote in my REALPolitik blog [which shall remain addressless], that for our Aboriginal children, "school is bullshit!" because the western versions of educating, NOT, indoctrinating kids into adulthood, does nothing for them in terms of leading them, teaching them how to be as their Immortal Ancestors were, Fully Enlightened People.

Indeed, all our "modern" western schools' curricula do to children, is basically dumb them down and lead them away from attaining their own Enlightenment, thus their lifelong ability to "Live in the "miraculous" Present Moment.

So, Thich Nhat Hanh's line, IS "miraculous" perhaps even to this era's Asian Peoples, but is most certainly applicable to the "fallen" descendents of the ancient Hebrews, the whiteguys of the western hemisphere.

    US!

    There ya' go!

Live & Die for Buddhism

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
