Their unblemished souls make us wish

No matter how close we are to another person, few human relationships are as free from strife, disagreement, and frustration as is the relationship you have with a good dog. Few human beings give of themselves to another as a dog gives of itself. I also suspect that we cherish dogs because their unblemished souls make us wish – consciously or unconsciously – that we were as innocent as they are, and make us yearn for a place where innocence is universal and where the meanness, the betrayals, and the cruelties of this world are unknown. ― Dean Koontz

If we were as good as our dogs think we are, that'd be a great accomplishment. Beautiful little dog… and what a dancer!:)

A dog gives of itself as a human being does. The difference is humans verbally, physically and emotionally express themselves; whereas your loving pet may growl, piss on your floor, did holes always in the area you don't want them (flower bed), chew up your shoes or drag your pillows from your patio chairs out to the backyard or even snap to warn then bite to show you how he feels.
Difference is only in expressing and it doesn't matter what form of animal.
Final moment from all animals (human as well), here comes the snuggling up close, the lick or the kiss and then whatever…

We cherish dogs because they are so friendly and loving, and if you they don't like you then they show you immediately, no pretending.

I've never had a dog…..I was just a Christmas dogsitter, on one occasion.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
