Until you break that Chain

The person who hurt you–who raped you or killed your family–is also here. If you are still angry at that person, if you haven't been able to forgive, you are chained to him. Everyone could feel the emotional truth of that: When someone offends you and you haven't let go, every time you see him, you grow breathless or your heart skips a beat. If the trauma was really severe, you dream of revenge. Above you, is the Mountain of Peace and Prosperity where we all want to go. But when you try to climb that hill, the person you haven't forgiven weighs you down. It's a personal choice whether or not to let go. No one can tell you how long to mourn a death or rage over a rape. But you can't move forward until you break that chain. ~Leymah Gbowee

The victim is ignored too often. We don't look for revenge but prevention and healing both the perpetrator and victim.

Not anymore my master teacher I only think of those days where I lost my friends and loved ones when I'm alone now if I only think of my daughters future and try to make it as bright as possible. And besides the two of you my daughter trying to make me smile all the time I don't have time to think about the past I only think of the future and try to make it as bright as I possibly can for everyone with all my respect to you Jendhamuni thank you.

Not only will you be weighed down but you will create more of this for your future! It is the universal law of attraction…"That which is likened to itself, is drawn…"

True, u need 2 accept & deal with traumatic events, or they will cause u much trouble, all ur life. It's sad that so many people hang on 2 h8, we should help our fellow man, I give all people a chance 2 treat me & "mine", with respect, and if they don't I stop talking 2 them, not like a grudge, I've learnt there's some people who r not worth the trouble knowing them can bring 2 ur life, but I hold no malice, I just move on, I'm glad I learned the importance of such truths, b4 Tanika was born, but she's a bit like me, she has 2 learn the hard way, lol 🙂

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
