We are all faced with the same Obstacles

The lotus is the most beautiful flower, whose petals open one by one. But it will only grow in the mud. In order to grow and gain wisdom, first you must have the mud — the obstacles of life and its suffering. … The mud speaks of the common ground that humans share, no matter what our stations in life. … Whether we have it all or we have nothing, we are all faced with the same obstacles: sadness, loss, illness, dying and death. If we are to strive as human beings to gain more wisdom, more kindness and more compassion, we must have the intention to grow as a lotus and open each petal one by one. ~Goldie Hawn

Khuda Ne Jab Tujhe Banaya Hoga,
Ek Suroor Sa Uske Dil Mai Aaya Hoga,
Socha Hoga Kya Dunga Tohfe Mai Tujhe,
Tab Jake Usne Mujhe Banaya Hoga…

Aap Hume Bhool Jao Hume Koi Gum Nahi,
Aap Hume Bhool Jao Hume Koi Gum Nahi,
    Jis Din Humne Aapko Bhuladiya,
Samajh Lijiyega, is duniya me hum nahi…

Na Jagte Huve Khwab Dekha Karo,
Na Chaho Use Jise Pa Na Sako,
Pyaar Kaha Kisika Pura Hota Hai,
Pyaar Ka Pehla Akshar Adhura Hota Hai…

YOU CAN LOOK AND OBSERVE TO GAIN WISDOM,I DONT HAVE TO BE IN THE MUD FOR THAT OR TO GROW

+Ishmael Hall every human originates from the earth, your Bible or Al Quran teaches that. (Adam & Eve). Mud is soil and water. Even evolutionist are convinced of this. The earth was here before anything else. So what is stated here is a Truth.

Thank you.  And it's rather a surprising pleasure to see that one of my favourite comediennes and actresses, Goldie Hawn, has made such great strides in her spiritual development.

+johnny conner This quote makes a perfect sense to me. Wisdom can only be found in an uncomfortable place. Like meditating flat on floor, instead of comfy cushion etc. That is why Lord Buddha left his gorgeous wife, beautiful baby, his parents and the kingdom to become a beggar, begging for food for a living instead of conquering the world. Adopting an uncomfortable lifestyle is the only way to find wisdom, no other solution. No matter how wealthy you are, if you want to seek wisdom, you must leave your wealthy and comfy life behind. Wisdom and knowledge are not the same. Comfy lifestyle increases desire, uncomfy lifestyle increase wisdom. This is the law of nature, no one invented, not even Buddha. Buddha found this, not invented anything.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
