When you have lost your way

When you have lost your way, when the world appears as if it is crumbling around you, perhaps, just maybe, you should close your eyes. By looking outward we forget the strength that is given inward. We can only see part of the picture with our eyes open. But, when they are closed, we see as a whole. We concentrate not on what we can see, but on the faith of what we know to be true. ~Rachel Van Dyken

Happened to me today. I closed my eyes on the ride home and didn't open them until I was home. If someone is yelling at you close your eyes and see what happens.

This is just plain stupid. How bout open your mind and your eyes and your ears, use your God-given senses man! For if you should close these to the truth, you shall surely walk nose first straight into a wall or straight off a cliff. For in life, there are many stumbling points on all paths. – Unconfussious

If we ever experience it, we shall find that the inner strength is always more than outer strength. But it is a matter of experiencing this truth.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
