You will not be punished for your anger,

you will be punished by your anger
If swearing at me make you happy, please enjoy

As a solid rock is not shaken by the wind, so the wise are not shaken by blame and praise. As a deep lake is clear and calm, so the wise become tranquil after they listened to the truth. ~Buddha

+Appa Nathan The core of all religions is to teach love although it sure is possible to learn how to love compassionately without religion.

+Appa Nathan Each person is responsible for his/her own action. It has nothing to do with religion, Appa. I am very sorry for the loss of your brother. I understand your feeling.

+Sofie Løve Forsberg in Europe religions were very much political systems, nothing to do with love. King James had the Bible translated according his views. This became the so-called Word of God. Who ever didn't agree with it found himself on the scaffold. Regards Charles.

Religions have always been twisted to be useful by those in power, +Charles van Dijk . Regardless of location. And you're taking of the past. I repeat: The core of all religions is love.

We are victim of those evils
Though we are very little knowledge of life.
    They are like our shadows,
    From which,
We feel that we are unable to escape.
We are like the floating bubbles,
Yellow leaves driftining in the wind,
    In the fail,
We are haunted by those notions.
    Certainly
We are the biproduct of modern civilization.
Our mind were not tarnished with the sense guilt or fear or sin.
    Every moment of life
    Packed with excitement.

+Rob Robinson people confuse anger and rage . Anger is a survival emotion designed to increase adrenaline production. Maintaining it is completely counter productive.

+Charles van Dijk I understand how adrenaline comes in2 play & readies us 4 a potential melee, or wotever, but I feel we should master our emotions & not let them dict8 our actions, I couldn't agree mor on the maintaining of it being counter-productive, it blocks u from receiving mor positive emotions 4 1, hope ur avn a wonderful day my friend 🙂

+Rob Robinson anger is a good emotion to have, when your mate copped it and you'll be next. No good if it is just caused by a honest mistake by someone . I think we are on the same wavelength.

+Charles van Dijk , yes it does serve a purpose, it's a touchy subject as I blieve anger can also make u vulnerable, I myself am trying 2 not let my thoughts b clouded by emotion, I admit there's bn times wen it has cmd 2 serve me well, ideally the best defence is a clear mind, un-clouded by anger, 4 then u c the situation mor clearly. Im not takin away from ur comment, but 4 yrs I av bn tryin 2 master my emotions, & anger is 1 I blieve should b, as it does cause alot of dramas, it's by no means an easy feat, situations wher anger is an asset don't cm 2 occur in my life anymor, I just hope it stays th@ way, I must admit, I am not beyond anger, but I want 2 b & am workin on it, I can c why th@s 1 emotion sum want 2 hold on2, but I don't think it's necessary, we can b strong without it, but wen it's appropriately directed I will not fault th@ person, just 4 me, I want 2 rise above it, & I don't think I av the answers, th@s just the person I wish 2 b, a master of my own emotions 🙂

+Rob Robinson It doesn't mean loosing your cool. On the contrary it sharpens the reflexes and clears the brain. Motivated by a deep affection for your mates and absolute cold heartedness for your enemy.

I think th@ may b the product of adrenaline, as we get in a hairy situation, th@ sharpens ur senses, as long as u don't lose ur cool, ur not letting anger get the better of u, self control is the key I suppose, it's hard wen ur whole life has bn spent dealing wit violent & un-predictable peopl, I must admit sum peopl r beyond reason & protecting urself or ur m8s is the only option, a less than ideal situation, but a valid point as it does happen, I am lucky as I don't av aggressive peopl in my life anymor, I av had my fair share & am trying 2 find anothr way 2 live, I av not had the imposition of violence upon me in years, wit the exception of my daughters mum, but she's no longer livin wit me & she's bi-polar, & I was not aware of dis fact wen we got 2gether,lol..now I only live in peace, I av not had 2 react 2 violence in a long time, & I've even walkd away, it helps wen my kids watchn as I don't want her 2 think bein violent is acceptable bhaviour, she's cn her mum in many fights, & I av 2 undo th@ damage 🙂

+Rob Robinson Bipolar is manic depression in other words. All the kind lovely words in the world won't work one iota. Controlling the chemical reaction in the brain does. Somebody came up with the formula in chemistry by thinking correctly.

Yes +Charles van Dijk , she suffered horrendous abuse as a child, I help her wen I can, but I can't av her live wit us, bcause although she's on meds, she still causes much distress 2 our child, but I kno inside she's a broken girl, my ex th@ is, I tried 4 5 yrs, but copped constant abuse & death threats 4 my trouble, but it cms she's un-able 2 control herself, the meds help, but not fully

  29. Charles van Dijk

    May 5, 2013

+Rob Robinson I know, the horrendous abuse probably by people who couldn't cope either. See it as a person drowning you try to help but it is no good if you drown as well. Wise thing is know when to let go.

  30. Rob Robinson

    May 5, 2013

+Charles van Dijk , ur right about the abusers bein un-able 2 cope either, & yes I had 2 remove myself from the situation, although we share a child, but we were all drowning, I still let her come here 2 c Tanika, & it's helping me 2 b mor tolerant, but I did get very angry the other night bcause she lied about a serious matter, I had a loose tongue bcause I had a few bourbons, I never av physically hurt her even wen she's physically attacked me, but I apologised 4 abusin her online & it felt so good,.although the apology wasn't reciproc8d, so wot I'm sayin is she has helped me 2 grow as a person 🙂

  31. Charles van Dijk

    May 5, 2013

+Rob Robinson Yep the wise thing is walk out, what you must do when you sense it will become physical. Remember it is better to be the person who can walk out than  be the person who is receiving treatment and medication.

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
