1. Learn from Plant or Animal

    28

Watch any plant or animal and let it teach you acceptance of what is, surrender to the Now. Let it teach you Being. Let it teach you integrity — which means to be one, to be yourself, to be real. Let it teach you how to live and how to die, and how not to make living and dying into a problem. ~Eckhart Tolle
  2. Silence is the best Revenge — Say what?

    70

Not wise to keep this idea in your head. The moment you have this thought in mind, you have already harm yourself emotionally. If you choose to follow this quote, I would suggest you keep looking at yourself in the mirror and don't be surprised if someone says you look 10 years older than your age. The best treatment is to forgive, forget and move on, not a revenge. Well, unless you want to walk around with wrinkles. ~Jendhamuni
  3. Some people

    115

Some people live as though they are already dead. There are people moving around us who are consumed by their past, terrified of their future, and stuck in their anger and jealousy. They are not alive; they are just walking corpses. ~Thích Nhất Hạnh
  4. You must have Love and Patience

    344

If you do not know how to take care of yourself, and the violence in you, then you will not be able to take care of others. You must have love and patience before you can truly listen to your partner or child. If you are irritated you cannot listen. You have to know how to breath mindfully, embrace your irritation and transform it. Offer ONLY understand and compassion to your partner or child – This is the true practice of love. ~Thích Nhất Hạnh
  5. Nothing is Permanent

    165

    Praise and blame,
    gain and loss,
    pleasure and sorrow
come and go like the wind.

    To be happy,
    rest like a giant tree
in the midst of them all.
    ~Dhammapada, The Buddha

Me & Grandma

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
