1. Breathing and Smiling

To me, breathing is a joy that I cannot miss. Every day, I practice conscious breathing, and in my small meditation room, I have calligraphed this sentence: “Breathe, you are alive!” Just breathing and smiling can make us very happy, because when we breathe consciously we recover ourselves completely and encounter life in the present moment.

  2. Knowing who you are

    56

Only one thing I expect from all of you: to be yourself, to discover your inner beauty, your purity of consciousness, your hidden splendor — and spread it to as many people as possible. People are miserable. Help them to laugh a little, to sing a little, to dance a little. ~Osho

  3. Goodbye Nemo

    50

Thank you so much my dear g+ friends
for all your prayers and for being
so kind to me during this dangerous storm.
I survived the storm, with no harm,
only lost 5 pounds, not bad. I’ll make up soon.

Finally our driveway is clean again!
With the help of my two little brothers
and my auntie, we finished shoveling
the snow in 8 hours. Mom is very happy!
    However, everyone admits that
a vegetarian works faster than meat eaters :)))
Now, I am back to my usual business…

  4. Have a wonderful weekend!

    19

    I’m going back outside now,
    to shovel more snow.
    Will return to g+ later.
    The snow is almost
as high as my house fence.

  5. A lot more snow than predicted

    34

I have never seen this much snow since I came to U.S.A. The snow is still falling and very windy too, almost knocked me down a few times. Well, Nemo storm is still very friendly to me. Okay, today, seems like I will have to shovel the snow all day, all by myself, since I am the only healthy person in the family :))))) Not sure how long I will survive!

  6. Time to play with the snow

    54

    Lots and lots of snow!
    I finally got home!
    Just helped mom shovel
    the snow for three hours.
Snow are still falling like tears,
    but my mother said
I could take a break for now.
After 3 hours I would not say, "NO"

  7. Our Beloved

    25

A summer breeze can be very refreshing; but if we try to put it in a tin can so we can have it entirely to ourselves, the breeze will die. Our beloved is the same. He is like a breeze, a cloud, a flower. If you imprison him in a tin can, he will die. Yet many people do just that. They rob their loved one of his liberty, until he can no longer be himself. They live to satisfy themselves and use their loved one to help them fulfill that. That is not loving; it is destroying. ~Thich Nhat Hanh

  8. Nemo Storm

    41

The storm will get really bad by 1pm.
I hope I can still drive back home, by then.
The editor said I can return home around noon.

  9. Anger and Peace

    22

    Anger says:
“I can destroy the whole world.”

    Peace says:
“Not when I work inside you.”

    ~Sri Chinmoy

  10. Angel’s Song

    20

Kind words are the music of the world. They have a power which seems to be beyond natural causes, as if they were some angel’s song, which had lost its way and come on Earth, and sang on undyingly, smiting the hearts of men with sweetest wounds, and putting for the while an angel’s nature into us. ~Frederick W. Faber

Live & Die for Buddhism

Me & Grandma

My Reflection

This site is a tribute to Buddhism. Buddhism has given me a tremendous inspiration to be who and where I am today. Although I came to America at a very young age, however, I never once forget who I am and where I came from. One thing I know for sure is I was born as a Buddhist, live as a Buddhist and will leave this earth as a Buddhist. I do not believe in superstition. I only believe in karma.

Tipitaka: The pali canon (Readings in Theravada Buddhism). A vast body of literature in English translation the texts add up to several thousand printed pages. Most -- but not all -- of the Canon has already been published in English over the years. Although only a small fraction of these texts are available here at Access to Insight, this collection can nonetheless be a very good place to start.
